Yumiko and Frank’s Rocklands Farm Winery wedding took place on Bastille Day. They met while working for an international non-profit organization in DC and they bonded over their mutual love of Haribo candy. Neither of them remembers their official first date since they kept it on the down low while hanging out at used bookstores and exploring hole in the wall restaurants.
For their wedding day Yumiko wanted to infuse her heritage into the wedding day decor and it turned our beautiful. She included Japanese paper cranes, umbrellas and fans throughout the day and guests enjoyed traditional French wedding favors of Jordan Almonds in mason jars.
Their afternoon ceremony was drenched in sun and the guests were surrounded by lush greenery and blooming sunflowers. After the official part was over, the guests were invited to sample some of wine from Rocklands Farms and play some lawn games. Because newlyweds opted to do the first look, they were able to join everyone during the cocktail hour. They only snuck away for a few minutes to enjoy the sunset and take a few more pictures of just the two of them.
The reception was a lot of fun with the band playing and bride’s father inviting everyone to the dance floor. Instead of traditional sparklers exit, the newlyweds decided to light sparklers earlier in the night with some of other frenchies in the group to celebrate Bastille Day.
Thanks for inviting me to share in your joy and to document your beautiful wedding day!
